Singapore GF
Pineapple fried rice from _!
Singapore was the second country my family and I visited on our first trip to Asia- and it was amazing! The people were so incredibly respectful and kind, and this translated to very accommodating situations in terms of safe dining with Celiac Disease! So without further ado, let’s get into it- all my favorite eats in Singapore!
My absolute favorite dining experience in Singapore was at the Den Long authentic Singaporean restaurant. The atmosphere was incredible, the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, and not only was there an entirely gluten free menu, but they were also able to make adjustments to options on their normal menu so I can have whatever I desired! I felt incredibly safe there, and there were so many delicious options! Spring rolls, oysters/clams, seabass/shrimp/shaking beef, stir-fried vegetables, and pineapple/coconut/garlic fried rice. Amazing!
We also loved Ciao Bella, an Italian restaurant right in the city center where they had gluten free pasta available and plenty of safe appetizers/salads. I had a delicious penne ragu pasta.
If you go to Singapore, you absolutely must make the drive to visit Gluten-Free Gourmet Bakery and Café, which is a 100% gluten free family-owned bakery tucked into an alleyway with plenty of delicious options- waffles, croissants, cinnamon rolls, pizzas, french toast, pancakes, brownies, muffins, and more! Definitely another highlight of Singapore.
The Whole Kitchen is a 100% gluten free bakery and café in the Katong district- we went there for lunch after a morning of exploring the city and enjoyed delicious treats as well as a beef lunch bowl that was absolutely amazing.
Next, The Butcher’s Wife is a restaurant in the Tiong Bahru district, also dedicated gluten free with some amazing authentic Singaporean options. This restaurant is Brazil and Latin-Mediterranean cuisine inspired, and the mix of flavors was absolutely delicious.
Next, Tiann’s, also in the Tiong Bahru district, is a bakery and café that was also 100% gluten free and focuses on no refined sugar in their baked goods. Their treats and snacks were great- make sure you find some time to stop by there when visiting Singapore!
Finally, when in Singapore we went to visit Sigatoka Island for a fun beach day trip! It was so fun and there were (surprisingly) plenty of gluten free options, including gluten free gourmet frozen ice cream sandwiches in all the shops, as well as safe and delicious gelato at Gelatissimo!
Remember, traveling with Celiac Disease doesn’t have to be stressful or impossible- with a little planning and some insider tips, you can have a worry-free adventure. :)
